& Pickleball

Hello ATC Pickleball players,

I wanted to first take a moment and re-introduce myself.  My name is Lincoln Ward.  I am the Director of the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center.  It has been a little while since I sent out a newsletter.  We have had alot of additions recently to our pickleball programming.  . 

I am proud to welcome Matt Lazarine to the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center and Austin pickleball community.   Matt will be the Director of Pickleball here at the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center.  He is coming to us from Houston and is currently commuting between cities.  In his short tenure here, he has helped organize events involving some of the top pickleball players in the country and pickleball exhibitions from notable tennis players like Andy Roddick!  We are excited to have him as part of our team.

Right now we are trying to grow our pickleball email distribution.  Please feel free to forward this email to your friends and fellow pickleball players and ask them to email a request to be added to info@playatctennis.com.   We currently offer weekend competitive & Recreational play, but are planning to add evening mixers &  leagues for adults.  We are also planning on introducing a junior program soon and tournaments.  We look forward to growing the game of Pickleball and helping make Austin the place to play pickleball in central texas!

 January Lessons/Clinics

All Clinics have a recommended RSVP.  The RSVP is designed so we can call you in the case of inclement weather and save you a drive out or cut down on the guessing game.  We will also call you if we have less than 4 players registered.  To RSVP, simply call512-928-8119 or email lincolnward@playatctennis.com by the listed time.

Saturday Morning Competitive Open Play

Join us for a day of competitive pick-up Pickleball play here at the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center.  Players can RSVP or simply show up for pick-up games with other players.  We will set aside 5 courts from 10am-2pm to keep the game going.  Please remember to take care of your court fees before you leave. Consider trying to RSVP by Friday 6pm. This allows us to keep you up to date if there are inclement weather conditions that can keep you from playing and save you a drive out.

Cost:  $3.00 / Player

When: Saturday Mornings 10am-2pm

50 Over/50 Under Pickleball Tournament

January 21, 2017

This event is part of the Austin Tennis & Pickleball Center Spring Tournament and Social Schedule.   4-player squads will compete in doubles and mixed doubles against other squads to aquire points towards a team total.  The 4-player squad with the most acrued points will be the tournament champions.  Each doubles team must be comprised of 1 50&Over player and 1 50&Under player, ONLY 1 player on the squad can be rated at a 5.0 skill level, and squads will be comprised of 1 men's team and 1 women's team.  Squads will then play 2 lines of Mixed Doubles.  Get ready for an exciting event!!!

When:   January 21, 2017   10am-3pm

Cost:     $20.00/ Player (4-member squads)

Registration Deadline: 6:00pm, January 16, 2017
