Austin Pickleball Cooperative - League Attendance Rules

You can find the full information about the Austin Pickleball Cooperative Competitive Pickleball Leagues here

Communication about Arrival Time

Because our games require all four players to be present, we require that all players communicate via TeamReach if they will be arriving after 7pm. Please post on the attendance thread that you are on your way and your estimated arrival time. This will help organizers avoid a last minute scramble to contact you and decide if we need a sub.

Attendance

A lot of people want to play in our league! Regular attendance is expected for all participants.

You are required to provide written communication to the league of any planned absences. If you need to miss a week, we need to find you a sub, so let us know early that you need to miss.

You are required to complete the Attendance Google Form for each and every day you will be absent from the league. We will not accept email, text, or phone calls notifications of a planned absence.

You are expected to inform the league the day before league night or sooner of an absence.

Planned Absences

You are responsible for confirming that we have received your absence notification. This should be done two ways:

1. Google Form Notification: You will receive a notification automatically from the Google Form to your email address.

2. Team Reach Notification: Our attendance volunteer will post the known absences in TeamReach the day of or before league. You MUST reply to the message if you plan to be absent and do not see your name. Failure to do so will be considered a "no show."

Planned Absences - Penalties for Missing Frequently

We expect players to attend the league with some regularity. If you are not able to join league regularly, you should consider joining us as a sub.

Players are required to attend an average of 65% of play sessions while enrolled in league.

The organizers review attendance records of all players once per month and will take the following actions:

First Warning: For any players near or at the 65% threshold (for the last 3 months), we issue a warning that you will be removed if you don’t attend more regularly.

Removal from League: For any players who have been issued a warning in any previous period and falls below the 65% threshold (for the last 3 months), you will receive a 30 day notice that your league registration is ended. You will need to rejoin the waitlist and wait for an opening to rejoin league.

Same-Day Absences

If you must cancel the day of You league, you MUST fill out the google form AND send a TeamReach message.

A 'Day of' cancellation may have a negative impact on your ladder ranking and two ‘Day of’ cancellations will result in your immediate removal from the league without a refund for any fees already paid. You may not register for the waitlist for league for 3 months if you are removed from league for ‘Day Of’ cancellations.

No Shows

You are required to provide written notice to the league administrator by at least 3pm the day of the league. If you fail to do so, you will be immediately removed from the league as a “No Show” absence without a refund for any fees already paid. You may not register for the waitlist for league for 6 months if you are removed from the league for a ‘No Show’.

Exceptions may be granted by organizers only in the case of true emergencies.

We will NOT grant exceptions for:
Travel delays (put in your absence if you are traveling the same day as league)
Injuries (that happen during a different day)
Issues with cars (that don’t happen on the way to league)
Other issues that happen in advance of league play and with enough time to notify organizers

We will consider exceptions for true emergencies, such as:
Death in the family
Being in the emergency room (for yourself, family, or other household members)
Car accidents or breakdowns on the way to league
Injuries during warm ups at league
Other issues that the organizers deem to be a true emergency
